Because your bunny deserves proper care - not just a check-up
At Middle Brighton Vet, we treat rabbits not just as cute guests - but as sensitive, sophisticated companions with their own health needs. Our vet team is experienced and trained to provide full rabbit care, from regular wellness checks to vaccinations, desexing, nutrition counselling and complex diagnostics or treatments.
Why trust us with your rabbit?

| Complete healthcare package | From preventive care (vaccines, deworming) to surgery or diagnostics, we can look after everything in one place. |
| Special diet & lifestyle advice | We give tailored nutritional plans — from high-fibre hay & veggies to safe treats — because diet is critical for rabbit health. |
| Desexing & behaviour support | Rabbits often benefit from desexing to reduce certain cancers in females or aggression and territorial behaviour in males. |
| Low-stress environment | We use rabbit-friendly handling, quiet spaces, gentle restraint and calm consult rooms to reduce anxiety for your pet. |
What we cover for rabbits
● Wellness checks & vaccinations - routine health screens, weight monitoring, parasite checks, and recommended vaccinations.
● Desexing surgery - to prevent uterine cancers in females and reduce behavioural issues in males.
● Dental care - from routine dental checks to trimming overgrown teeth or addressing malocclusion.
● Digestive & gastrointestinal issues - diagnosing or treating GI stasis, blockages or dietary complications.
● Diagnostics - imaging (x-ray, ultrasound), bloodwork or fecal analysis to catch issues early.
● Emergency care - if your rabbit is unwell, we offer same-day consults and treatments, with lab and imaging onsite.
● Nutrition & rehabilitation - creating feeding plans (hay / forage / pellet / fresh veggies), plus advice for sick or recovering rabbits.
Our care approach
1. Gentle first consult - we take time to evaluate overall health, diet, housing / environmental factors and behaviour.
2. Tailored plan - depending on age, condition, or health issue, we propose preventive, medical or surgical care.
3. Calm handling - rabbits are handled with minimal stress using rabbit-friendly techniques.
4. Diagnostics & treatments - if needed, we perform diagnostics or treat issues (dental, digestive, surgery).
5. Home care guidance - we give you clear instructions for housing, diet transitions, medications and monitoring at home.
6. Follow-ups - repeat checks or ongoing care to keep your rabbit healthy, even in older age.
Is this right for your rabbit?
Our rabbit services are ideal if your bunny is:
● Ready for routine health screening or vaccinations
● Showing signs of dental trouble (drooling, weight loss, difficulty eating)
● Needing desexing to reduce health or behavioural risks
● Experiencing digestive issues or needing a tailored diet
● Requiring diagnostics for any health concerns
We strongly recommend bringing your rabbit along with housing info (diet, type of cage / run, daily routine) so we can make the best advice and plan specific to them.

What vaccinations do rabbits need?
We recommend vaccinations against common diseases (e.g. calicivirus or viral haemorrhagic disease), plus regular wellness checks to catch any issues early.
When should I desex my rabbit?
Females are at high risk of uterine or reproductive cancers if left unspayed. Males may show territorial or aggressive behaviour. We can advise on best timing based on age, breed and health status.
How do I care for a rabbit after surgery?
It usually involves gentle recovery, soft hay and pellets, limited movement, pain management, and close monitoring for appetite and digestion. We’ll give you customised instructions for home care.
My rabbit stopped eating / is quiet - what should I do?
This is a red flag. Rabbits digest constantly, so loss of appetite or inactivity can point to gastrointestinal stasis or other urgent conditions. Contact us immediately for an emergency consult.
What should I feed my rabbit?
A proper diet is mostly high-fibre hay + good quality pellets + a selection of safe fresh veggies. Hay must be available constantly. We’ll give you a plan tailored to your rabbit’s age, health, and lifestyle.
Can you treat older rabbits or those with chronic issues?
Yes - we handle older rabbits or those with dental disease, GI issues, or ongoing conditions. We offer ongoing checkups, diagnostics and follow-up care appropriate for their needs.
